TI-84 Plus CE User Manual & Guide
Learn how to perform basic operations, graph 2D functions, use secondary keys, and solve scientific equations.
1. Basic Arithmetic & Clear Screen
Steps to perform normal calculations using the calculator:
- Type in the number from the numeric keypad (0 โ 9), along with arithmetic signs (+, -, *, /).
- Press the green enter button for obtaining the answer.
- The clear button can be pressed for clearing the entry made.
2. Plotting 2D Graphs
To plot algebraic functions and trigonometric curves:
- Type the variable function using the X,T,ฮธ,n button (for example, xยฒ-4 or sin(x)).
- Click the Graph or Y= button on the top line of the keyboard.
- The display mode will change to the Graph mode, where you can see the smooth coordinate plot.
3. Using 2nd (Blue) & Alpha (Green) Labels
Most buttons have secondary functions printed above them in blue or green text:
- Square Root (โx): Press the blue 2nd key, then press the xยฒ key.
- Inverse Trigonometric Function (sinโปยน): Press 2nd key, then press the sin key.
- Alpha Keys: Press the green alpha key for alphabetic keys written in green.
4. Logarithms & Powers
Scientific calculations are accessible directly through dedicated keys:
- Base-10 Logarithms: Use the log key (e.g., log(100)).
- Natural Logarithm: Use the ln key for natural logarithms with base e.
- Exponents / Power: Use the caret key (^) to calculate exponential values (e.g., 2^5).
